Chicago Bulls Injury Report: Still No Tre Jones, Portland Down Multiple Starters? ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

The Chicago Bulls could catch a big break on Wednesday night.

According to the latest official injury report, the Portland Trail Blazers might be without multiple starters. Veteran offseason acquisition Jrue Holiday will miss his third-straight game with a calf strain, while Robert Williams will sit out the backend of the team’s back-to-back as a precaution for his past knee injury troubles.

Portland is also likely to be without Shaedon Sharpe, who has been downgraded to “doubtful” roughly two hours before game time. The uber-athletic 22-year-old is putting together a career year, averaging 22.6 points per game as the team’s second-leading scorer behind Deni Avdija. Sharpe has played in every game this season and is fresh off a 29-point outing in last night’s loss, where he shot 12-25 from the field.

But, wait, there’s more! Forward Jerami Grant also remains questionable due to an illness that held him out of last night’s game. Prior to that, he had appeared in every game this season and averaged 18.3 points per game in an off-the-bench role. If he isn’t given the green light shortly before tip-off, the Trail Blazers could be down three of their Top 4 leading scorers. And don’t forget that they are already without former No. 2 overall pick Scoot Henderson and All-Defensive Team member Matisse Thybulle.

As for the Bulls, they will remain without Tre Jones, who will miss his third consecutive game with an ankle injury. The good news, however, is that Coby White will suit up for his second contest of the year after sitting out the team’s win over Denver. Making his season debut against the Jazz on Sunday night, the medical staff ultimately decided to hold him out of the first back-to-back set. There is an expectation that they will handle things similarly this weekend when the Bulls play two straight on Friday and Saturday.
