2025 Idaho High School Activities Association 6A State Championships
Nov. 7-8, 2025 Boise, Idaho SCY (25 yards) ResultsBishop Kelly girls swimming coach Ryan Stratton didn’t want to back down at all from the challenge.
Technically, his team, based on school enrollment should compete in the 5A classification in Idaho, not 6A, which is the largest of the two classifications.
But Stratton said his team wanted to be in 6A, and the recent state championships showed why.
The Bishop Kelly girls easily repeated as state champions, doing so with a great blend of seniors and underclassmen on the roster.
“We petitioned up to swim in 6A,” Stratton said. “We want to swim against the best, and to go back-to-back speaks for itself. We have a great senior leadership group. We’re going to miss them next year. But, man, we have a lot of rising stars that really carried the points for us today.”
The boys’ event was won by Owyhee, which became the first school other than Boise to win the state meet in Class 6A since the IHSAA started sanctioning swimming in 2018.
Owyhee was two points better than runner-up Boise despite sending just seven swimmers to the meet.
Girls’ Recap
Bishop Kelly left little doubt, winning eight of the 11 events contested.
Sophomores Sedona Stratton and Brayleigh Hoisington were the individual stars, each winning two events and being a part of two record-setting relay teams.
Stratton repeated as champion in both the 100 breaststroke (1:02.43) and 200 IM (2:03.28), doing so in personal best times.
Hoisington also set personal bests to repeat as champion in both the 200 free (1:51.69) and 100 back (57.63).
