The final day of the 2025 Swiss SC Championships saw three new Swiss Records and a few more European Championships Qualifying times.

Roman Mityukov picked up a win in the men’s 200 back, earning his 3rd backstroke medal and European Champs qualifying time in national record fashion. He touched in 1:50.66 to break his own Swiss Record time of 1:50.95 from April.

Silver medalist Flavio Bucca also came in under the Euros qualifying time, touching in 1:53.73, more than a second under the cut of 1:55.32.

Paul Niederberger broke the Swiss Record in the men’s 800 freestyle. He swam 7:49.61 to take more than five seconds off the 7:54.92 he swam in the opening 800 of his winning 1500. The previous record was 7:55.86 set by Antonio Djakovic in April of 2024.

Despite breaking the national record, Niederberger missed the European Championships qualifying time of 7:49.35 by just three tenths.

The final Swiss Record came in the final event of the meet. Vanna Djakovic swam 16:19.47 in the women’s 1500 freestyle to complete her sweep of the distance freestyle events and break Gabrielle Oberson Swann’s 2008 record of 16:23.02. She also came in three seconds under the Euros qualifying time of 16:22.27.

In the women’s 200 backstroke, Gaia Rasmussen swam 2:08.24 to come in less than half-a-second under the 2:08.70 qualifying time. Rasmussen holds the current Swiss Record at 2:07.28 from April.

Noe Ponti won the men’s 50 fly in 21.99, just six tenths off his World Record time of 21.32 from the 2024 SC World Championships. This was his only butterfly event of the meet.

Gian-Luca Gartmann won the men’s 200 IM in 1:55.74, undercutting the European qualifying time of 1:58.51 by nearly three seconds.

Angelina Patt picked up her 5th event win of the meet in the women’s 200 IM, swimming 2:11.40 to win by just over two seconds and pick up another qualifying time, coming in more than a second under the 2:12.41 mark.
