A man charged with murder in Denver allegedly called police to confess the crime, according to court documents.
Wolfgang Craig, 31, walked into the Glendale Police Station at 950 South Birch Street at about 11:07 p.m. on Nov. 7, according to his arrest affidavit. Once inside, he picked up a phone in the lobby that connected him to 911 dispatchers.
Craig told dispatchers that he had killed his mother at his home in the 8600 block of East Yale Avenue, the document stated.
He was arrested in the lobby by Glendale officers, who reported the crime to Denver police, according to the affidavit.
Denver officers searched the apartment less than 30 minutes later and found a dead woman inside, on the home’s second floor, police said in the document. Investigators said her face was heavily wounded.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will identify the victim and release her cause of death.
