November 13-16, 2025 Piscina Nova de l’Escullera, Barcelona SCM (25 meters) Prelims – 10:00 CET/4:00 EST. Finals – 6:00 CET/12:00 EST Meet Central Live Results and Start Lists Psych Sheet (11/01/25) Lublin 2025 Qualification Criteria/SwimSwam PreviewSpain saw its second national record of its 2025 Short Course National Championships on the final day of competition. CN Sabadell’s Eudald Tarrats, who has had a breakout meet, capped it off with a 26.27 50 breaststroke. This prelim swim represented a .5 second personal best as well as his first national record.
With this swim, Tarrats ended Carles Coll’s monopoly on SC breaststroke records in the country. Coming into this weekend, Colle’s 26.29 mark from the 2024 Short Course World Championships stood as the country’s swiftest. Both he and Tarrats qualified to swim at the European Championships in Lublin, Poland, next month.
This marks the second overall national record of the meet. Diego Mira kicked the meet off with a 4:04.83 400 IM.
In the day’s other men’s sprint, the men’s 100 free, rising star Luca Hoek topped the podium for the first time with a 47.04. The 17-year-old national record holder in the long course version of the event held off two close competitors: Miguel Perez-Godoy (47.16) and Sergio de Celis (47.20). de Celis became the final Spaniard man to qualify for Euros.
Maria Daza completed her 50-100-200 freestyle sweep with a comfortable 52.78 100 victory tonight. Daza continues to show her 2025 progress in Barcelona, as this swim marked a pb by .6 seconds. Backstroker Carmen Weiler finished second in 53.42, while 15-year-old Irene Ciercoles put up her first Lublin qualifying time of 54.02 for third. Ciercoles came into this weekend with a 55.15 personal best, further exemplifying that the junior will be one to watch out for in the coming years.
Following her 100 free silver medal, Weiler returned to the blocks to pick up gold in the 100 backstroke in 57.59.
After two narrow misses in the 100 and 400 IMs, Emma Carrasco put up a 2nd place finish in the 200 medley to get decisively under the Lublin benchmark. She clocked a 2:08.80 to place 2nd behind her Singapore 2025 teammate Laura Cabanes, who turned in 2:07.54. This marked a two-second best for Cabanes, who doubled up on wins after her 200 fly victory earlier. Alba Vazquez came in third with a 2:09.11, stacking another event onto her Euros repertoire.
The women’s 800 free final saw the same battle as the mile between Angela Martinez and Maria de Valdes. The order flipped this time, though, as de Valdes touched the wall first in 8:24.79 to Martinez’ 8:27.37. Both ladies will square off again in the two distance events in Poland.
