PENFIELD, N.Y. — A pancake breakfast was held Saturday to benefit a local charity.
The proceeds from the breakfast, hosted by the First Baptist Church of Penfield, will be going to Refugees Helping Refugees (RHR).
According to Mai Abdullah, the executive director of RHR, the church has hosted benefit breakfasts, made donations, volunteered, and supported them in other ways in the past.
“It’s a great way for them to let us know that they are thinking of us,” said Abdullah.
RHR serves Monroe County, and offers classes and various programs to help refugees grow and build a new life. You can learn more or make a donation here.
Included in Saturday’s breakfast was pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, apple topping, whipped cream, and coffee.
