I hope you are ready for some good news from the Chicago Bears injury front.
The team announced that Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson’s 21-day practice window has opened. In other words, the Bears have opened the path to Johnson’s return fron injured reserve. This is a big news and a wonderful development:
We have activated the 21-day practice window for Jaylon Johnson
— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) November 14, 2025Bears Open 21-Day Practice Window For Pro Bowl CB Jaylon Johnson
This has been a week of positive developments for Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson:
It began earlier in the week when Johnson was spotted working out in an Instagram story share with a caption that read: “They said Jaylon Johnson was out indefinitely, nahhhhhhh ⚡️?” The good news continued when Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson told reporters at Halas Hall that he expects the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback to return this season. And now, we have news that Johnson’s 21-day practice window is open. This clears a path for his return within the next three weeks. For what it’s worth, I do not think Jaylon’s return is imminent. But that an in-season return for the stretch run could happen is certainly lifting my sprits as a a Bears fan. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn ImagesThis has been a mangled season for Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson. An offseason training injury put him on the non-football injury list to start training camp and caused him to miss the entirety of the summer — including the team’s three preseason games. Johnson tried working his way back into the lineup for Week 1, but couldn’t make his debut in the season-opener. And when he did make his 2025 debut, Johnson suffered a groin injury in the first half of the team’s Week 2 loss to the Detroit Lions. That injury led to surgery and a stint on injured reserve. But perhaps all of that is leading to a major comeback.
The Bears could use a healthy Jaylon Johnson. Cornerbacks Tyrique Stevenson and Nahshon Wright have been starting, and it hasn’t always been pretty. The signing of C.J. Gardner-Johnson has been fun (and productive) in the two weeks he has played, but adding a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback who earned second-team All-Pro recognition in 2024 would be a real difference-maker. With that in mind, we’ll keep an eye on this news and share developments as they become available.
