What the Chicago Bears’ Playoff Odds Look Like Entering Week 11 ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

For the first time in a while, the Chicago Bears playoff odds (and not NFL Draft positioning) are a focus points for us in mid-November.

How refreshing is that for all of us?

Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season kicks off with a Thursday Night Football showdown between the New England Patriots hosting the New York Jets. So while the Chicago Bears will not kick off their game until noon on Sunday, this gives us time to take a look at the updated NFL playoff odds.

NFC North Standings:

1. Detroit Lions: 6-32. CHICAGO BEARS: 6-33. Green Bay Packers: 5-3-14. Minnesota Vikings: 4-5

Things you love to see: The Chicago Bears being ahead of the Green Bay Packers in the NFL standings. Also notable from the NFC North standings is that the Bears are technically tied with the Detroit Lions for first place in the division. The Lions own the tie-breaker by virtue of the absolute beatdown they put on the Bears in Week 2. But with that in mind, wouldn’t it be something if the Week 18 Bears-Lions matchup ultimately decided the NFC North champ? I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but I’m sure the NFL’s script-writers are foaming at the mouth thinking about the storylines they can cook up if that is how the cookie crumbles.

NFL Playoff Picture

This is what the NFL playoff picture looks like after 10 weeks of the 2025 season:

Even though the Bears are currently holding the No. 6 seed in the NFC, the calculations from NFL media give the Green Bay Packers (70%) and San Francisco 49ers (76%) better odds at making the playoffs. For what it’s worth, Chicago’s football team (which has a 40% chance of qualifying for the postseason) plays two games against Green Bay and one against San Francisco in December. It wouldn’t surprise me if those games ultiamtely decide which of these three teams vying for two spots will emerge as playoff-worthy.

Let’s look at it this way: The Bears control their own destiny from this date forward. Let that sink in for a minute. Feels good, right?

Bears Playoff Odds (via ESPN)

Let’s check out the latest Bears playoff odds from ESPN, whose Football Power Index provides updated odds for every team to make the playoffs, win its division, make the Super Bowl and win the whole freakin’ thing.

Chicago Bears Playoff Odds (ESPN):

BEARS: 48.1% playoffs, 13.4% division, 2.4% make the Super Bowl, 0.9% win the Super Bowl Green Bay: 71.2% playoffs, 30.9% division, 8.3% make the Super Bowl, 4.0% win the Super Bowl Detroit: 85.0% playoffs, 54.2% division, 16.2% make the Super Bowl, 8.5% win the Super Bowl Minnesota: 7.9% playoffs, 1.5% division, 0.2% make the Super Bowl, 0.0% win the Super Bowl

In case you’re curious, ESPN’s FPI has the Los Angeles Rams (12.0%), Philadelphia Eagles (11.9%), Kansas City Chiefs (11.2%), and Indianapolis Colts (10.9%) as the top four teams with the highest odds to win the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Lions (8.5%) are on the outside looking in at the other four teams with a 10 percent shot or better.

On the one hand, seeing the Bears with a 0.9 percent chance of winning the whole enchilada puts into perspective how much work this team needs to do to get into the NFL’s upper echelon. But on the other hand, I prefer looking at Super Bowl odds more than I do the odds of the Bears landing the No. 1 overall pick this time of year. Silver linings and baby steps, my friends.

More Bears Playoff Odds:

Let the record show that ESPN isn’t the only show in town. Other sites have looks at the Bears’ playoff odds. Let’s take a look at some of them.

For instance, FTN — which uses DVOA ratings to help cook up its postseason percentages — has the Bears playoff odds at 41.9 percent. By FTN’s numbers, Chicago also has an 8.1 percent chance of winning the division. The Bears’ best path to making the postseason will likely be via the wild card, where FTN gives the team a 33.8 percent chance of sliding in that way.

This team hasn’t made the postseason since 2020, when it became the first NFC team to make the playoffs as a No. 7 seed. This nugget is worth sharing because the DVOA playoff forecast has the Bears’ best path to the playoffs coming by way of the No. 7 seed (17.2%). This team is far more enjoyable to watch than its 2020 iteration. And Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is on our side now. That’s fun.

The Athletic has also a playoff simulator that shows the Bears with a 33 percent chance to make the playoffs. Here is the breakdown:

Chicago Bears Playoff Odds (The Athletic):

Make the playoffs: 33 percent No. 1 seed: < 1 percent Wild card: 27 percent Host a wild-card game: 6 percent Out of the playoffs: 67 percent

How important is Sunday’s game against the MInnesota Vikings to the Bears playoff odds?

A win would boost the Bears playoff odds to 49 percent. But if they lose, it would drop the team’s odds of making it into the postseason to 23 percent.

I like clicking through The Athletic’s playoff simulator because it provides a snapshot that explores how things can swing with just one game. In the end, the Bears playoff odds are better than what I expected them to be after an 0-2 start. I’m curious to see how this team goes about its business in Week 11.
