André Burakovsky was not at the Blackhawks’ morning skate on Wednesday. Head coach Jeff Blashill indicated he’s a game-time decision.
With that in mind — and both Jason Dickinson (who did skate Wednesday morning but isn’t ready to return yet) and Frank Nazar out of the lineup, the Blackhawks need another forward body to fill a lineup.
Blashill said after the morning skate that Landon Slaggert will be recalled and go if Burakovsky cannot.
Blashill also said Slaggert’s time in Rockford was what they hoped it would be. Slaggert was hurt and/or sick for most of training camp and then hurt again at the start of the regular season, and Blashill noted that it’s hard to get your game going at 7-8 minutes per game.
Slaggert has been skating bigger minutes in all situations for the IceHogs and been playing well. He has one goal in three games with the IceHogs.
