No matter what date night looks like, though, whether you’re coupled up or riding solo, food is a non-negotiable. Sure, we’re all in for pottery lessons, but can we stop and eat something first? Not saying we need a full meal before we go horseback riding, but will there at least be snacks? Just like we’ll never forget going skydiving, food stays with us and helps us flesh out the details of memories that eventually fade to sepia. You might not remember the entirety of the date you had 10 years ago, but you’ll definitely remember the food. It gives color to the moments we’ll look back at and reminisce about when our hair is peppered with gray, and it’s hard to pick a more tasty marker than the first time you had filet mignon.
That’s why when my partner suggested we hit P.F. Chang’s for an impromptu date night last week, I knew it would be a night to remember. It’s hard to believe that over the course of our nearly decade-long relationship, we’d never been to P.F. Chang’s together before, but better late than never, as they say. After finishing up work for the week, we both got dressed in coordinating outfits (as one does) before heading out for our 6 pm reservation. We walked into the half-full restaurant that was buzzing with the subtle hum of conversation and were promptly seated at a table before our server came to grab our order.
For drinks, we ordered the Frosted Cranberry Cosmo and Apple Spice and Everything Nice off their newly launched holiday menu, and started with a half order of the famous Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer. Now, we’re not really here to talk about the lettuce wraps, but Kendall told me they were good, and honestly, I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. They were crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and bonus points for getting to share them with my smoking-hot date.
A Flavor-Packed Meal to Remember

After such a strong start, I couldn’t help but be excited for what was next, and little did I know I was in for a meal that would completely alter my brain. For our entrees, Kendall went with the Crispy Honey Chicken with a side of white rice, and I opted to try the new Black Pepper Chicken and asked if it could be made spicy. I got brown rice, and we also ordered the Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts and Chili Garlic Green Beans to share. When our main course finally made it to the table, I was immediately impressed with how fresh and vibrant everything looked and may or may not have drooled a little bit.

Couple that with the fact that I was in the company of the hottest man on the planet (eat your heart out, Jonathan Bailey), and there’s truly nothing more I could’ve asked for. After everything was said and done, our bill came out to just about $67 for the two of us, and if I’m being honest, for the portion sizes and quality of the meal, that’s a steal in my book. So, if you’re planning your next date night or just looking for a delicious meal, you can’t go wrong with P.F. Chang's. Just make sure to save an order of lettuce wraps for me!
