(KRON) — A speeding car crashed into a home at 399 Thatcher Lane in Foster City shortly after midnight Sunday.
Officers responding to the crash found the driver, a 29-year-old woman, sitting on the ground near the wreck "in a state of acute emotional and physical distress," the Foster City Police Department said.

The car ultimately stopped after crashing into a light pole near the home’s front yard.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. She is not suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
Police submitted the case to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office to determine if the driver will be charged with reckless driving. Foster City building inspectors are working to assess the structural damage caused to the home.
