The event included information on veterans resources, music and free food for the attendees.

The Veterans Resource Center currently services 307 veterans and military-connected dependents.

Los Angeles Valley College has assisted veterans and their dependents eligible through GI Bill benefits for decades, said Jennifer Fong Borucki, manager of public relations at LAVC. However, she said, in its current form, VRC offers more robust support for students who are veterans.

The Veterans Resource Center was established in 2012 to be a one-stop location with dedicated staff and counseling faculty to assist veterans and their dependents who are eligible for VA educational benefits.
