Princeton women swept Brown and Dartmouth at their double dual meet over the weekend in Hanover, New Hampshire. The meet saw 7 new pool records, with the Tigers winning 15 of the 16 events.

The Tigers have dual meet records of 11-0 against Dartmouth since 2005. In the same period, Brown women have a record of 11-1 against the Big Green. (Dartmouth won their dual meet in November 2010.) Princeton women are 7-0 against Brown since 2009.

Women’s Recap

Princeton divers Charlotte Norman, Charlotte Martinkus, and Maggie Squire went 1-2-3 in the 1-meter diving event and 4-1-3 in the 3-meter. Martinkus’s 340.90 points on the 3m board broke the pool record of 340.55 that had been set by runner-up Maggie Lambdin (310.40) of Dartmouth in January.

Freshmen Delaney Herr (25.19) and Sophia Sunwoo (22.73) provided the backstroke and freestyle legs of the Princeton medley relay that broke the pool record with 1:41.68. Another Princeton first-year, Chloe Kim, won the 1000 free (10:00.74) and 400 IM (4:20.42), establishing pool records in both events. Another classmate, Savannah Skow won the 200 free (1:50.07) by over 2 seconds and the 500 free with a pool record (4:52.68), while Herr took 1.2 seconds off the pool record in the 100 back with her winning 54.11. Freshman Sophia Sunwoo emerged victorious in the 50 free with 23.23. She placed 3rd in the 100 free behind Princeton senior Sabrina Johnston (50.43) and Brown senior Morgan Lukinac (50.51).

Not to be outdone by the first-years, junior Eleanor Sun won the 200 fly (2:01.61) and the 200 back (2:00.00), while her classmate Dakota Tucker took care of business in the 200 breast (2:19.32), .6 ahead of Dartmouth junior Katherine Jia. Senior Heidi Smithwick touched first in the 100 fly with 55.94. She anchored (51.17) the winning 400 free relay with Sunwoo (50.89), Johnston (49.97), and Sun (50.53) that broke the pool record with 3:22.56.

Brown freshman Angelina Chen won the 100 breast by half a second over Dartmouth’s Jia, 1:03.92 to 1:04.43.
