CHICAGO BEARS INACTIVES FOR WEEK 10 — It’s officially official: Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift is ACTIVE for the team’s Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants.
How much Swift plays against a Giants defense that is poor against the run is to be determined. But for what it’s worth, Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson offered up an inkling as to how the touches could work themselves out on game day.
“I do believe in a guy having a hot hand, so one guy, if he’s feeling it and giving us a spark, we might lean on that a little longer,” Johnson said, via Pro Football Talk. “We’ve got a really good room. Travis Homer, even he brings something to the running back room that you might not see. Everyone talks about Monangai and Swift, but with Homer and hopefully getting Roschon [Johnson] back, those guys will add another flavor as well, so I’m excited to see it.”

Mandatory Credit: Peter Casey-Imagn ImagesBen Johnson seems to have a good handle on the Bears’ running back time share. That should come as no surprise to football fans who kept tabs on how the backfield tandem of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery were deployed when Johnson was the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator. In any case, I’m glad D’Andre Swift isn’t on the list of Bears inactives going into Week 10.

— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) November 9, 2025There are two things that stand out in that list of Bears inactives for Week 10.
Firstly, tight end Stephen Carlson is INACTIVE. Carlson was called up from the practice squad on Saturday, which led me to believe that Durham Smythe (who was limited in Friday’s practice with a calf injury) wouldn’t be available for the Giants game. I guess Smythe is feeling better. That is an encouraging sign. Secondly, Ruben Hyppolite II’s name isn’t among the list of inactives. The rookie linebacker has been a healthy scratch for each of the last four games. Perhaps he will get some snaps while linebacker T.J. Edwards is sidelined with his injuries.
As for the New York Giants’ inactives, here you go:
