2025 Pleasanton Seahawks SC Senior 2
November 7th-9th, 2025 Pleasanton, CA SCY (25 Yards) Full Meet Results: “Pleasanton Seahawks SC Senior 2” on Meet MobileTeen sensation Luka Mijatovic posted two more lifetime bests on Saturday in Pleasanton, California as he expands his range beyond his primary middle-distance freestyle base. Following his electric 8:37 in the 1000 free on Friday, which ranks #5 all-time (for swimmers of any age), Mijatovic added new lifetime bests in the 200 IM and 100 fly on Saturday.
In the 200 IM final, he swam 1:44.28, beating out his Pleasanton teammate Tim Wu (1:46.41). That undercut Mijatovic’s own personal best of 1:45.67 done in April before he shifted into long course mode for the summer. The improvements for the 16-year-old came from outside of his primary freestyle races.
Splits Comparison:
New PB Old PB Differences 11/9/2025 4/6/2025 Back 22.56 22.80 -0.24 Breast 26.31 27.11 -0.80 Fly 30.75 31.30 -0.55 Free 24.66 24.46 +0.20 Total Time 1:44.28 1:45.67 -1.39That jumps Mijatovic up to 9th place all-time in the 15-16 age group, incidentally one spot ahead of Wu, his teammate and training partner.
Mijatovic also swam to a new lifetime best of 47.54 in the 100 fly prelims before scratching the final, which moves him to 52nd all-time in the age group. That is his second best time in the 100 fly in less than a month – he swam 48.50 on October 18.
He scratched finals of that 100 fly in favor of the 200 free, which he won in 1:34.74. That’s about half-a-second off his lifetime best.
All this begs the question of what will happen when he arrives in Austin in 2027 and the University of Texas, where he will train under Bob Bowman, the best men’s IM coach in history, and whether the pair will explore Mijatovic’s potential in the IM events.
Mijatovic is also scheduled to swim the 500 free, 200 fly, 100 free, and 100 back on Sunday, though he will likely scratch at least one of those races.
Mijatovic wasn’t the only Seahawk to have big performances in his home pool on Saturday. 15-year-old Daniela Linares Danzos won the 200 backstroke in a new best time of 1:54.32, which took over a second off her previous best from Winter Juniors last December.
That makes her the fastest 15-16 in the country this season by over two seconds, even in the younger end of the age group, and lands her among the top 60 all-time.
Maddie Thornton from the Bend Swim Club in Oregon, a Georgia commit, also posted a best time for 2nd place. Her 1:54.92 undercuts her 1:56.81 from Sectionals in the spring, the last time she swam the race in short course, and is almost six seconds ahead of pace for where she was at this time last year.
She also finished 2nd in the 50 free (23.13) and won the 200 free (1:48.80), both of which were close to her personal bests.
Linares Danzos also swam a best time in the 200 IM in prelims (2:04.23) before being disqualified in finals, and won the 100 fly in 55.09.
Other Saturday Standouts
The aforementioned Tim Wu, a Cal commit, won the 200 back in a new lifetime best of 1:42.55. That’s the fastest time in the country this season by a 17-year-old by more than two-and-a-half seconds and drops almost a second off his previous personal best from the 2024 US Open. Another Cal commit, Jordan Ragland from Life Time Northern California, won the boys’ 50 free in 20.02. That’s off the 19.61 that he swam to finish 2nd at last year’s California High School State Championship meet, but is well ahead of where he was at this point last season.Read the full story on SwimSwam: Luka Mijatovic Swims 1:44.28 In the 200 IM to Expand His Repertoire
