A 1-year-old boy was critically injured in a shooting on Saturday in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The shooting was reported at approximately 2:08 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard near East 77th Street. Police said a 1-year-old boy was shot in his right leg and transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
As of Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t immediately clear what led up to the shooting.
Detectives were investigating.
