GREECE, N.Y. — A 56-year-old woman who Greece Police say has an “extensive criminal history” has been arrested after they say she stole $1,200 worth of merchandise from the new Boscov’s store.
Police say say they responded to the store at the Mall at Greece Ridge for a report of a theft on Wednesday.
After investigating, police found the suspect, Davonna Williams of Greece, and took her into custody at her home. Williams was charged with grand larceny.
According to Greece Police, Williams has 31 prior convictions, including three felonies and 28 misdemeanors.
Greece Police say they have partnered with Boscov’s to “maintain a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for customers and employees.”
During the opening day of the store, News10NBC spoke with CEO Jim Boscov who said they “prosecute” shoplifters and “crack down on theft.”
