ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two 36 year old’s have been arrested related to a gun going off in a house on Westmoreland Drive that wounded a 1-year-old and woman in her 30s back in September.

It happened on Sept. 3 on Westmoreland Drive in a neighborhood off Mount Hope Avenue. Rochester Police say two kids were in a bedroom, when it is believed one of the kids unintentionally discharged a shotgun that was under the bed, shooting the 1-year-old and woman.
On Wednesday, police say Temu Medford was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Task Force. Shortly after that, police say Heru Medford turned himself in.
Both of them were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say they believe Heru had an unregistered handgun, and is responsible for having the loaded shotgun in his room under his bed.
They also say Temu was believed to have an unregistered handgun and that he “concealed significant evidence” during the investigation.
Both of the suspects were brought to the Monroe County Jail.
