ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After a nice Tuesday with sunshine and dry weather for Election Day we are now issuing a Yellow Alert for Wednesday. Looking at a similar set-up in the weather tomorrow as what moved through the region on Monday. A general gusty wind for everyone around 40-45mph with local strong storms late day into the evening off Lake Ontario.
No widespread concerns from the wind but a few trees and branches may come down leading to local power outages. The storm threat will be much more localized. The first chance for a strong storm will be along the actual cold front which will move through late in the day. Behind the front some lake effect will develop and may produce a few storms into the evening. Any storm that kicks up may bring lightning, some hail and also a damaging wind gust.
