Katie Goodman from Rocky River, Ohio has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Xavier beginning in fall 2026.

Goodman swims for Lakeshore Swim Club and swam to numerous best times at Sectionals in Columbus back in July. She swam a 2:28.38 to finish 50th in the 200 back and a 2:32.82 to finish 58th in the 200 IM. Her other lifetime best came leading off Lakeshore’s 400 medley relay as she split a 1:08.43 on the backstroke leg.
She began her senior year at Saint Joseph Academy this fall and finaled in the 500 free back in February at the Ohio Division I State Championships. She swam to a 5:13.38 for 14th. She also was 19th in the 200 IM in a 2:10.94.
Goodman’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 back: 58.89 200 back: 2:05.47 500 free: 5:09.64 200 IM: 2:09.59The Xavier women finished 3rd out of seven teams at the 2025 Big East Championships. Leading the way was Olivia Oyster who scored 91 individual points including wins in the 50 and 100 freestyles. The team entered its second season under head coach Lindsey Niergarth this fall.
Based on her best times, Goodman has the potential to make an immediate impact upon her arrival. Her best time in the 200 back would have made the Big East ‘B’ final and her 100 back time would have made the ‘C’ final. The team had three ‘A’ finalists in the 200 back but only one, Reese Turner, in the ‘A’ final of the 100 back.
Goodman will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Cassidy Gifford who primarily specializes in sprint free and backstroke.
