The Chicago Bears will try to get back on track when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, but their offense will be missing some key weapons.
It was revealed Friday that the Bears would be without their top two running backs in Sunday’s game, as D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson were both ruled out of the contest.
Wide receiver Luther Burden III will also miss the game after suffering a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
Swift has been the team’s leading rusher this season, with 464 yards on 100 carries so far this season, with four touchdowns to his credit.
Kyle Monangai will get the bulk of the work with both Swift and Johnson out, as the rookie has registered 186 rushing yards and a touchdown this season.
Travis Homer could also get some time, and the Bears activated Brittain Brown from the practice squad for Sunday’s game to give their backfield more depth.
The Bears’ passing attack will be down a man with Burden on the sidelines, as the rookie 13 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
Fortunately for the Bears, Rome Odunze and DJ Moore, both of whom missed practice earlier this week, will both be on the field for Sunday’s game.
It does appear that the Bears will be facing Joe Flacco on Sunday after the quarterback suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder during last week’s game.
Flacco has appeared in three games for the Bengals, completing 64.3% of his passes for 784 yards and seven touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception for Cincinnati.
The Bears and Bengals will square off at noon Sunday, with the game airing on CBS.
