The No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels have been on an absolute tear over the past couple of months, vaulting out to a 7-1 start and finding themselves right in the thick of things in the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff picture.
Much of this success has been driven by Lane Kiffin‘s elite offensive system, and the new star under center he’s found to run said system in former Ferris State transfer Trinidad Chambliss.
Chambliss was brought in to serve as the backup to Austin Simmons, but an early injury against Kentucky in Week 2 forced him into the starting role. Chambliss seized the opportunity and never looked back, joining some elite company along the way with his previous starts.
According to the official Ole Miss X account, Chambliss has become the first Rebels quarterback with at least 250 passing yards through the first 6 starts of his career since Eli Manning did so back in 2001.

— Ole Miss Football (@OleMissFB) October 28, 2025It’s clear that Chambliss has been elite at throwing the ball, but what’s really separated him is his elite ability as a runner, racking up a further 376 yards and 5 touchdowns with his legs.
With Chambliss leading the charge, Kiffin and the Rebels will be looking to secure their first College Football Playoff berth in program history come December.
