Getz posted his fastest 100 fly time of 53.43 in March at the 2025 VA HOKI Speedo Sectionals (SCY) in Christiansburg, Va.. He also set a personal best in the 500 free with a time of 5:10.13 and competed individually in the 50 free (22.54) and 100 free (51.12).

Getz triumphed at the Maryland Senior Championships (SCY) the previous month, setting several personal bests, including his prelim times in the 100 free (50.29), 100 back (59.20), and 100 fly (53.56). He advanced to the finals in the 50 fly with a personal best of 24.25, finishing 25th.

At the meet, Getz also served as the leadoff swimmer for his team’s 200 free relay (22.25) and 800 free relay (1:51.44), helping the team place 11th and 17th, respectively, with both times marking lifetime bests. He further contributed to the team’s efforts in the 200 medley relay, swimming the butterfly leg in 23.38 for 12th place, the 400 medley relay butterfly leg in 53.15 for 13th place, and the 400 free relay, splitting 50.10 for 18th place.

Gardner-Webb men’s team finished 3rd out of five teams at the 2025 ASUN Championships. Getz has the potential to strengthen Gardner-Webb’s butterfly group, especially if he continues to drop time. Last season, the fastest time in the event for the team was 48.70, set by John David Cass at the conference championships to qualify for the ‘B’ final. Cass has since graduated.

Getz will arrive on campus alongside Jackson Beck, Jaxson Moenning, Colton McBryde, Jake Thomas, and Jack Martin. Martin has a 100 fly time of 52.82.
