Jason Kelce has given another big Chicago shout out, switching his fandom from a famous old-school doughnut spot to a no-fuss sandwich staple.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star dedicated a recent social media post to a small shop that made a big impact on him during his earlier visit to the Windy City.
“When we were in Chicago for MNF earlier this year, we stopped by Moons. Food was fantastic, service was exceptional, and the patrons were loyal!” he wrote. “The entire staff made the experience, I felt right at home, really felt like a neighborhood joint where everyone knows each other. And I’m still thinking about those Pancakes.”
Kelce said he aimed to capture “cultural icons in the city of Chicago” and “maybe some stuff off the beaten trail.”
Video also showed him getting a recommendation from a resident who was leaving the Loop restaurant and recommended the pancakes.
In separate videos, Kelce is seen eating the pancakes and also ordering the corned beef and sliced turkey sandwiches.
“This might be the best corned beef I’ve ever had,” he said. “I’m not even messing around. And I love corned beef.”
It’s not the first time Kelce has spotlighted a local favorite from his visit to Chicago during Monday Night Football earlier in the season.
During his trip, Kelce took his own food tour of Chicago — and touted one of the spots live on television from Soldier Field.
On the Bears vs. Vikings Monday Night Football broadcast the retired NFL offensive lineman could be spotted wearing a shirt repping Roseland staple Old Fashion Donuts.
Kelce later took to social media to tout the social media-famous old-school spot.
Mr. B made the best Apple Fritter I’ve ever had, and I don’t even like Apple Fritters. Old Fashioned Donuts in Chicago is an absolute gem. He opened the place in 1972, hasn’t had an off day since. Turns 87 on Oct, 5th. The workers, the food, it was all just a fantastic… t.co/5LdNBnDkEB

The day before, Kelce made a surprise visit to Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap in the Gold Coast neighborhood, enjoying some chicken wings as he watched football in action. He washed down the meal with Garage Beer; both Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce own the brand.
