A handful of players were held out of practice on the first Chicago Bears injury report of Week 8.
Brace yourselves. This one isn’t pretty.
Chicago Bears Injury Report — October 22, 2025
PLAYERS WHO DID NOT PRACTICE
Tight end Cole Kmet (back), wide receiver DJ Moore (hip), cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), running back D’Andre Swift (groin), running back Roschon Johnson (back)Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson told reporters earlier in the week that he felt the Kmet and Stevenson injury situations were more “day-to-day” than “week-to-week.” Hence, I am not overly concerned about the DNPs next to their names. However, that could change on Thursday if both (or either) remains sidelined during the team’s next practice session. We’ll continue to monitor those injury status for updates as the week goes on.
Seeing DJ Moore and D’Andre Swift as non-participants on Wednesday would irk me more had those players not played (and played well!) on Sunday despite spending time on the injury report ahead of the team’s Week 7 showdown against the New Orleans Saints. My hope is that these are just maintenance days for key contributors.

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee), offensive lineman Braxton Jones (knee), kicker Cairo Santos (right thigh), cornerback Nahshon Wright (hip)This marks the second consecutive limited participation designation on a Bears injury report for defensive lineman Grady Jarrett. It sounds like Jarrett was lined up to play on Sunday against the Saints before field conditions pushed Chicago to proceed with caution and give the defensive tackle another week to recover. I’ll feel good about Jarrett’s chances of playing in Week 8 if he can put together at least one (1) full practice before this week comes to a close.
It will be worth monitoring Cairo Santos’ status because the Bears can elevate kicker Jake Moody just one more time from the practice squad before the team has to make a decision regarding his status on the roster moving forward. If Moody gets flexed for a third time, it means that his fourth flex would put him on the active roster. Just something to keep in mind.
PLAYERS WHO WERE FULL PARTICIPANTS ON WEDNESDAY’S BEARS INJURY REPORT
Defensive end Austin Booker (knee), linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee)Austin Booker’s time on injured reserve should be coming to a close soon. The 21-day practice window closes on Oct. 28.
