TEMPE — Arizona State star receiver Jordyn Tyson was ruled out for Saturday’s game against Houston due to an apparent hamstring injury, coach Kenny Dillingham said at Wednesday’s practice.
Tyson reached for his right hamstring after making a cut on a route away from Chamon Metayer’s 12-yard reception in the third quarter of ASU’s 26-22 win over Texas Tech. He remained down in the end zone after the play as trainers stretched out his right leg.

He was back on the field after missing two plays and caught a two-yard touchdown to end the drive.
“Probably the first wide receiver taken in the draft and he’s battling for his team,” Dillingham said of Tyson at Monday’s practice. “What NFL team wouldn’t want that kid who battled through that?
“He wasn’t thinking about his personal career. He was thinking about winning that football game for his teammates. If that’s not somebody that you want in your football team, I don’t know what is.”
