Chicago Bulls basketball is two days away. Brace yourself.
To celebrate opening week, the Bulls officially unveiled their 2025-26 City Edition uniforms! Fans will have to wait until December to get an on-court look at the newest threads, but the initial photos have already won me over. I’ve been critical of some jersey designs in the past, and I’m still not sure the NBA should be forcing teams to roll out something new every year. With that being the case, I love that they kept this year’s edition simple and clean. The Chicago script never fails! Again, we’ll have to see them under the United Center lights before making an official call, but my immediate reaction is that these are in the Top 3. I’d put it right alongside the OG white ones from 2017-18 (which these are inspired by), and the 2021-22 red jersey that draws on multiple eras of Bulls basketball. I know the black uniform from 2018-19 was a fan-favorite too, but those never grew on me as much. You can look back at all the editions on the team’s website. Chicago Bulls Unveil New City Edition Uniform for 2025-26 Season – What Do You Think? In far less fun news, the Bulls came out this morning with a frustrating injury update. Despite Coby White returning to the practice court this weekend, the team shared that he will need at least two more weeks to regain full health. The guard was originally expected to be ready for opening night on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons – albeit on a likely minutes restriction. The good news is that it doesn’t necessarily sound like there was a major setback for White after taking the court. The bad news is that the Bulls seemed to be operating under the assumption that they would have their leading scorer when the games started to matter. Instead, they will now have to tackle a very difficult opening schedule without White’s reliable offense. White will now miss at least the first six games of the season, which come against the Pistons, Magic, Hawks, Kings, and Knicks (x2). Five of those teams are widely predicted to be in the playoffs. And things will not lighten up after that! If White is able to return after these two weeks off, he will see the 76ers, Bucks, Cavaliers, and Spurs. The preseason made me feel slightly better about what this young group could accomplish this year … but that was also under the assumption that White would be back this week and Zach Collins wouldn’t have to miss a month! My expectations have now lowered again, and I’m genuinely concerned about how ugly things could get over the next few weeks. Bad Chicago Bulls Injury News: Coby White Will Now Sit Out Multiple Weeks The only silver lining from this Coby White news is that it creates that much more room for Matas Buzelis to pick up where he left off in the preseason. The second-year forward was one of the team’s go-to scorers the last couple of weeks, taking full advantage of the extra opportunity. The Bulls will now have to continue to lean on his offensive versatility pretty drastically, which should make for a pretty fun early-season storyline to watch. Even if Buzelis struggles as he moves even higher up the scouting report, this should be a great learning experience. The offseason ends today! As Bobby Marks of ESPN kindly reminded us, this means that rosters will lock at 4:00 p.m. CT and players eligible for a rookie scale extension have until 5:00 p.m. CT to ink a new deal. This is also the final day to convert Exhibit 10 contracts into two-way deals, as well as the deadline to extend a veteran with two-plus years on his deal. For what it’s worth, this all means pretty little for the Chicago Bulls. They already have a full 15 guaranteed contracts and have each of their three two-way spots filled. To be sure, one did open up this weekend when the team waived Yuki Kawamura due to injury, but they immediately filled that with a pretty interesting name. Zach Collins of the Chicago Bulls with Billy Donovan – © Kyle Ross-Imagn Images HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported that the Milwaukee Bucks are trying to trade 2024 second-round pick Tyler Smith as they finalize their roster. If they do not find a partner, they will likely waive the forward to hand Andre Jackson Jr. the final roster spot. I don’t necessarily want the Bulls to give up anything here, but I would love it if they found a way to add Smith to the mix. He played with Buzelis on the G League Ignite and was a pretty interesting prospect. While he is certainly a more traditional power forward, he stretches the floor at a pretty high rate and has the ability to be a pretty reliable roll man/lob threat. I know the Bulls are starting to pile up guys at the wing, but can you really have enough in today’s league? It was shared a couple of weeks ago that the Bulls added Kevin Knox to their G League affiliate for this season. Well, it sounds like they did so via trade with the Santa Cruz Warriors. To land the former lottery pick, they sent over a first-round pick in the 2026 G League draft (yes, that’s a thing) and Illini standout Marcus Domask.TRADE: Windy City has acquired the returning player rights to Kevin Knox II from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for a 2026 1st round draft pick and the returning player rights to Marcus Domask. pic.twitter.com/JbLR8UqlHp
— Windy City Bulls (@windycitybulls) October 20, 2025 Caleb Williams didn’t impress much this weekend, but he also didn’t have to! The Bears got a huge performance from their running backs again as they rolled past the Saints. If this recent running game can meet the early-season passing game … the Bears could stay hot. Two of the Cubs’ prospects are destroying in Fall League right now. Baseball season never ends! Soooo this is dope! Sometimes I feel like basketball season can be cast aside here at BN (I wonder why!). But Bleacher Nation Fantasy has my back this year. We’re bringing back a 100% deposit match promo to celebrate the start of NBA season! The deal works for up to $500 using the code DUNK (btw 1.5x playthrough required, and bonuses will expire 13 days after being uploaded). The game is very fun for football, but it’s honestly even better designed for basketball. You can enter way more picks for way more players across way more categories. Anyway, give it a try and let me know what you think. I’ll be sharing many of my Bulls picks this year in our morning notes, too. Got to keep the games interesting somehow!MORE FROM BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
