DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 reopened after snow caused closures on parts of the roadway from Silverthorne to the Eisenhower Tunnel on Monday morning.
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed I-70 between Exit 205: U.S. 6; CO 9; Silverthorne and Exit 216: US 6; Loveland Pass for safety conditions on Monday morning, but reopened the roadway just before 8 a.m.
The National Weather Service said this snow on I-70 will make for some slick travel near the Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass until about 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. when conditions improve.
Detours around I-70 and Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial TunnelCOtrip, a traveler information map, said there were scattered showers starting at Genessee Mountain around 7 a.m. Showers went on west, through Idaho Springs, until Georgetown, where it started to turn into snow. From Silver Plume to Silverthorne, snow was captured blanketing the roadway.

While there's snow along I-70, Denver will remain dry on Monday.
