ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man from Rochester died in a motorcycle crash Saturday, Oct. 18, on the city’s northeast side, officials said. The Rochester Police Department provided an update early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on Ridgeway Avenue and Mount Read Boulevard. Officers said the motorcyclist attempted to pass a car stopped at a traffic light and collided with a van. The motorcyclist was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital.

The roadway has since reopened.
