DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police deployed smoke and pepper balls to disperse a separate group of protesters in the downtown Denver area after the "No Kings" rally on Saturday.
On Saturday, “No Kings” rallies were held nationwide and across Colorado, including in downtown Denver and the State Capitol Building.

However, the department said that around 3:50 pm., a "smaller group of protesters" allegedly began a second march moving towards the intersection of 20th Street and Chestnut Street.
The department said its officers had been staged at the intersection in order to stop the group from accessing Interstate 25.

According to DPD, at around 4:05 p.m., the agency's officers had "declared it an unlawful assembly," issuing multiple orders to disperse. At around 4:10 p.m., officers then started to deploy smoke and pepper balls to disperse the group.
The police department said several arrests were made, however, it is not known at this time the identities of those arrested and the exact charges they will be facing.
