President Trump complimented Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's jacket as the two met in the White House Cabinet Room for a highly anticipated gathering with top aides to both leaders.
Zelensky did not wear a suit to the meeting, but he wore a suit jacket over one of his trademark dark shirts.
Trump complimented Zelensky on his look.
“Thank you. And I think he looks beautiful in this jacket. It’s beautiful. I hope people notice. It’s very stylish,” Trump said after Zelensky spoke.
Zelensky took heat from the right when he did not wear a jacket to the White House earlier this year at a meeting with Trump and Vice President Vance that quickly descended into a shouting match.
He faced questions before that meeting about his attire.

In August, when Zelensky returned to the White House, he was wearing a coat and matched shirt, though not a tie.
“President Zelensky, you look fabulous in that suit,” Glenn told the Ukrainian leader after Trump called on him to ask a question in the Oval Office. “You look good.”
“I said the same thing,” Trump chimed in at the time. “And he’s the one that attacked you last time.”
Since the disastrous February meeting, there has been a steady warming trend in the relationship between Zelensky and Trump, at least in public.
