VA NOVA 12 & Under Kick Off
October 4th-5th, 2025 Richmond, Virginia SCY (25 Yards) Full Meet ResultsNova of Virginia 12-year-old Daniel Bunge set six new personal best times and joined the top 100 all-time 11-12 rankings in five events at the annual VA Nova 12 & Under Kick Off to start the 2025-2026 short course season.
He won all six of his individual events, starting with the win in the 100 IM, where he swam 56.21 to win by just over five seconds, and drop three tenths from the 56.56 he swam in March of this year. He now sits in 29th in the all-time rankings for 11-12 boys.
He also won the 200 IM in 2:00.36, touching 11 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher Will Arcarese of NOVA, who also finished 2nd in the 100 IM. Bunge’s swim was nearly a four second drop from his previous best of 2:04.08, also from March of this year. It also moves him up to 26th all-time in the 11-12 rankings.
His highest ranking swim came from the 100 freestyle, which he dropped seven tenths in to swim 49.31 to improve on his previous best of 50.06 from March. This time jumped him up to 25th all-time in the event.
Bunge also earned top 100 rankings with his drop in the 50 free to 22.88, which sits in 52nd, and his drop in the 50 back to 26.15, which just cracks the list at 93rd overall.
This was likely Bunge’s last meet in the 11-12 age group as he will turn 13 between now and early November.

Yara Tsybulina (11), NOVA– Tsybulina, an 11-year-old out of NOVA set five new personal best times in the 100 breast (1:15.25), 200 breast (2:41.32), 100 fly (1:02.13), 100 IM (1:02.25), and 200 IM (2:15.58). She also won three events, the 100 fly, 100 IM, and 200 IM. Harper Johnson (11), NOVA– Also winning three events, the 11-year-old Johnson set six new personal bests. She won the girls 100 breast (1:13.34), 200 breast (2:36.91), and 50 fly (28.48), and she set best times in the 100 fly (1:04.35), 100 IM (1:05.09), and 200 IM (2:19.75). Olivia Browning (12), NOVA– Another three event winner, Browning took the girls 100 free (56.47), 100 back (1:03.13), and 200 back (2:16.91) event wins in the 11-12 age group. She also finished 2nd in the 50 fly (28.75), 100 IM (1:04.06), 200 IM (2:19.41). Her 100 free, 100 IM, and 200 IM were all best times. Emma Trivette (10), NOVA— Emma Trivette, a 10-year-old from NOVA won four events and took 2nd in two, all were new personal best times. She won the 50 free (29.39), 50 back (34.40), 100 fly (1:13.87), and 100 IM (1:14.85), and she finished 2nd in the 100 free (1:05.96), and 200 IM (2:43.66). Will Arcarese (12), NOVA– Arcarese finished 1st in three events and 2nd in three events, all behind Bunge. He won the 50 breast (30.51), 200 breast (2:26.00), and 50 fly (26.79), and he finished 2nd in the 100 breast (1:07.17), 100 IM (1:01.30), and 200 IM (2:11.38). All his swims were personal best times. Payton Heck (10), NOVA– Leading the 10&Under boys meet was NOVA 10-year-old Payton Heck. He won the 100 free (1:04.21), 50 breast (37.43), and 100 IM (1:12.56).
