Blackhawks Vibes: Biz Loves the Hawks? Bedard, Nazar, Vlasic, More From the Blowout Win ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

The Blackhawks unloaded on the Blues last night, boat racing them out of their own barn. The Hawks scored eight goals in a game for the first time since March 8, 2022. It was a complete performance, and apparently payback for the Blackhawks getting their butts kicked in the Winter Classic. I love that they’re keeping that score in their lockers for every time they see the Blues. Payback is beautiful, and this edition was served family style.

Instead of having our morning Blackhawks bullets end up longer than a CVS receipt because of all the exceptional content and historic notes from last night, I figured we’d just go ahead and have a second full debrief of the blowout of the Blues. Let’s go!

I’ll start with something I mentioned this in my postgame notes. Last night, Alex Vlasic became just the fifth different Blackhawks defenseman in the past 30 years to record three primary assists in a game. The other four: Gary Suter, Henri Jokiharju, Duncan Keith (twice) and Matt Walker. Paul Bissonnette has been critical of Connor Bedard in the past, and heard about it from Blackhawks fans on social media. Bedard has been chippy all year and more than happy to stick up for himself. Biz saw that — and loves it. He’s back in on the Blackhawks.

— NHLonTNT (@NHL_On_TNT) October 16, 2025 With three assists, Bedard posted his 29th career multi-point game. He passed Jonathan Toews (28) and ties Bobby Hull for the fifth most multi-point games by a Blackhawks skater before turning 21. The list ahead of him: Denis Savard (44), Jeremy Roenick (41), Eddie Olczyk (41) and Patrick Kane (39). Bedard having three apples was also significant. This was Bedard’s third career three-assist game. Only three other Blackhawks skaters have as many before turning 21: Savard (9), Olczyk (4) and Stan Mikita (3).  Last night was also Bedard’s 10th career three-point game. That passes Toews (9) for the fifth most by a Blackhawks skater before turning 21. Ahead of Bedard on that list: Savard (15), Kane (13), Roenick (13) and Bobby Hull (11). We’re only five games into this season, and Bedard doesn’t turn 21 until July. This angle of Bedard’s pass to Teuvo Teräväinen for a power play goal is ridiculous.

Holy moly what a pass from Bedard pic.twitter.com/pOWbbjPTCl

— Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) October 16, 2025 Frank Nazar became the second Blackhawks player over the last six years to record a point in each of the team’s first three road games. The other: Bedard (in 2024). Nazar got the call to have the pregame chat with the crew on TNT last night. Biz chirped him for getting rocked last game. Frank didn’t flinch.

Frank Nazar joined the boys before Hawks-Blues for his TNT interview debut and we might have a Mr. TNT junior division carved out just for him pic.twitter.com/I1R0SCU8o8

— NHLonTNT (@NHL_On_TNT) October 16, 2025 Nazar and Bedard put on the headsets together after the game to chat with the TNT crew. Nazar with the naughty language, but… after putting a snowman on the board in St. Louis? We’re gonna let this one ride.
