While appearing on a Wondery+ early access episode of the "Armchair Expert" podcast released on Monday, October 13, Aniston, 56, opened up about why she never turned to adoption after co-host Monica Padman discussed her experience of freezing her eggs.
"It's so peaceful," Aniston shared. "But I will say there's a point where it's like out of my control. There's literally nothing I can do about it."
Aniston said the topic wasn't something she really wanted to talk about, though she acknowledged there have been moments where she has met someone and thought they "would have made some good kids." However, she added that the sentiment often passes "within three seconds."
The Morning Show actress said not becoming a parent is something she now romanticizes because she's "on the other side of it" and "it's out of your control."
Aniston revealed why she never wanted to adopt three years after she candidly discussed how she came to accept that she would never be a parent while speaking to Allure in 2022.
"Here I am today. The ship has sailed," Aniston said. "I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, 'Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.' I don't have to think about that anymore."
“They [the media] didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes,” she said.
She went on to insist that no one was entitled to know whether or not she wanted to have a child. “That’s not anybody’s business. But there comes a point when you can’t not hear it – the narrative about how I won’t have a baby, won’t have a family, because I’m selfish, a workaholic. It does affect me – I’m just a human being. We’re all human beings," she said.
