When the Washington Commanders square off against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, they will do so without one of their best pass catchers.
Two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin will not suit up for the Commanders in their Week 6 showdown against the Bears. Instead, McLaurin will sit on the sidelines because Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn has ruled him out. This will mark the third consecutive game McLaurin will have missed due to a quad injury he suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. For what it’s worth, Washington has split the two games it has played since McLaurin went down with the injury.
There was some optimism early last week from the Washington football team’s coach that Terry McLaurin would be available for the Monday Night Football game against Chicago. However, McLaurin did not practice in any capacity this week before his head coach ruled him out.
So much for the positive outlook at the outset of the week.

In addition to not having Terry McLaurin available for the Week 6 Monday Night Football affair against the Bears, the Commanders will be down a second wide receiver when they take the field later tonight. Washington has also ruled out Noah Brown, a wide receiver who has missed the team’s last three games due to groin and knee injuries. You might remember that it was Brown who caught the Fail Mary touchdown pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat the last time these two teams played.
BEARS NOTES: NEW STARTING LT CONFIRMED FOR WEEK 6, INJURY UPDATES, MORE
Even though Noah Brown has been a nice target for the second-year Commanders quarterback, Terry McLaurin is a game-changer who plays at another level. McLaurin has put up five consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and has collected at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first six seasons as a pro. If he can get healthy, I have little doubt that a sixth 1,000-yard receiving season would be within his grasp.
We’ll have more on the injury front later today when the two teams announce their inactive players before kickoff.
