CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A homicide investigation is underway in northwest Charlotte, police say.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a business in the 5000 block of Beatties Ford Road around 7:07 p.m. for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Major Anderson with CMPD's North Division says the incident occurred inside the business, but did not specifically name the store.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic attempted to perform life-saving measures on the victim, but he later died at the scene.
Police say this was an isolated incident, and the victim was not an employee at the business.
Officials have not said if anyone has been charged in the shooting. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 704-432-8477 (TIPS).
