Quicksilver Swimming’s Eleni Charnas has verbally committed to the University of San Diego as a part of the women’s 2026 recruiting class.
I am excited to share that I have committed to swim D1 at the University of San Diego!
Thank you to Coach Carrie, Coach Andre, and the rest of the coaching staff at Quicksilver Swimming for your years of support. Thank you to Coach Mike and Coach Shawna as well for this opportunity to continue my swimming and academic career at my dream school.
Another thank you to Crosssgates Swim Club for the endless memories and motivation to get faster. If it was not for this magical team, I would not be swimming in the first place.
Lastly, I am most thankful for my parents and their support and the sacrifices they made for me. They were the key to my success and love for swimming.
I can’t wait for the next four years in the Big West! Go Toreros!
Charnas hails from San Jose, Calif., where she represents Quicksilver and swims at Pioneer High School.
At the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Sacramento (LCM) this past summer, Charnas’ best finish came in the 50 freestyle, where she finished 47th in 27.64. Additionally, she finished 49th in the 100 free (1:00.01) and 56th in the 200 free (2:12.87).
One of her best short course outings came at the BVAL Championship (SCY) in April. There, she notched a best time in the 100 free, clocking 52.00. She also touched 24.07 in the 50 free, marking a new best at the time, before swimming 24.02 a month later at the CIF Central Coast Section Championship.
Her skillset goes beyond sprint freestyle, holding best times in the 200 free of 1:56.85, 59.42 in the 100 butterfly, and 1:08.87 in the 100 breaststroke.

Based on Charnas’ best times, she would have finished 21st in the 50 free, 16th in the 100 free, and 24th in the 200 free at the 2025 Big West Swimming and Diving Championships.
Charnas is already in scoring position or just outside with her current bests, with a year still to improve upon them.
Charnas is currently the only publicized commitment for San Diego in the high school class of 2026.
