AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department said one person is dead after a shooting in north Austin near the 1800 block of Rutland Drive on Sunday morning.
APD Officer Jeremy Fisher said the call came in just after 3 a.m. after reports of gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an injured man at a nearby convenience store. He was then transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased, according to APD.
Officer Fisher said that this was an isolated incident and that there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.
