A Potter Valley man was killed in a crash on Highway 20 near Lake Mendocino Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported. According to the CHP, the driver of a 2006 Toyota was westbound on Highway 20 just west of Marina Drive around 6:50 a.m. Feb. 5 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle traveled over the double yellow lines and collided with an eastbound 2014 Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a trailer. The Toyota first struck the left side of the semi-truck, then side-swiped it before continuing, “out of control,” off the highway and down the hillside before coming to a stop.
