One of the biggest games of the Week 7 slate of college football action is the top-10 matchup between the No. 3 Oregon Ducks and the No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers up in the Pacific Northwest.
This big-time Big Ten clash was full of big moments in the first half, but the best of them didn’t even have anything to do with the players on the field. Instead, it had everything to do with a hilarious moment from a referee as time ticked down before halftime.
The Hoosiers were lining up for a 58-yard field goal to take the lead into the locker room, but Oregon head coach Dan Lanning called a timeout right as the ball was being snapped.
This led to the referee rushing in to call the play dead, and he actually almost got to the ball before senior Indiana kicker Brendan Franke got the dead kick off for what would have been an epic block.

— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) October 11, 2025Usually, kickers have to worry about potential blockers coming towards them, but this ref came sprinting in from the backside, which certainly caught the Hoosier kicker off guard.
Franke wasn’t rattled, though, as the senior calmly drilled the kick on the following play after the Ducks attempted to ice him, giving Indiana a 3-point lead at the half in the process.
