Rosendahl is a Northwestern alumna who competed for the Wildcats from 2015-2019. During her time with the program, she won the national title in the women’s platform event in 2017 and 2018.
Her freshman year at the Big Ten Championships, she finished 8th in the 1-meter event, 4th in the 3-meter event, and 2nd in the platform. She went on to qualify for NCAAs on the 1-meter and platform events where she finished 4th on platform and 19th on 1-meter.
Her sophomore year she won her first NCAA title in the platform. That season, she finished 2nd in the 1-meter and platform and 10th in the 3-meter at the 2017 Big Ten Championships. She went on to qualify for NCAAs in all three events, finishing 37th in the 1-meter and 8th in the platform to become the first double All-American for Northwestern since 2000.
In 2018, her junior year, she won Big Ten Diver of the Year after winning her 2nd straight NCAA title in the platform. She also won the 3-meter at the 2018 Big Ten Championships, finishing 2nd in the platform and 4th in the 1-meter. She finished 8th in the 1-meter and 9th in the 3-meter at NCAAs that season.
As a senior, she again won three diving medals at Big Tens (3rd on 1-meter, 2nd on platform, and 2nd on 3-meter) before finishing 7th in the platform and 18th in the 1-meter at her final NCAA Championships.
Since graduating in 2019, Rosendahl has been working for USA Diving, recently serving as the Director of Operations for the organization.
Head Coach Rachel Stratton-Mills said “It’s incredibly special to welcome Olivia back to Northwestern,” Stratton-Mills said. “She is one of the most accomplished athletes in our program’s history and has continued to make an impact on the sport at the national level. Our divers will benefit tremendously from her experience, perspective, and passion for this program, and I know she will be an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes.”
She joins a coaching staff of Stratton-Mills as Director, Kris Jorgensen as head diving coach, Margaret Howe, Jacob Siar, Eddie Larios, Matthew Lowe, and Mario McDonald.
Northwestern had two divers score at Big Tens last season, Caroline Li and Chloe Sharpe, and both divers are juniors this year.
