The second-year pass rusher has been one of the most important key contributors to Denver’s defense and on special teams. He’s playing 39% of Denver’s defensive snaps and has one sack on the season, one forced fumble, 11 tackles, and six pressures.
Elliss popped up on the injury report on Wednesday with a rib and shoulder injury that came from the aftermath of Denver’s big win against the Eagles. He missed Thursday’s practice as well, which puts his game status into question for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
The Broncos have one more scheduled practice on Friday, and Elliss’s level of participation will be under the microscope. If he upgrades to being a limited participant, there’s a chance he could be a game-time decision.
