ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The man charged in the deadly shooting of a convenience store owner said no to a plea deal on Monday morning.
Tony Brown is facing second-degree murder and weapons charges. He’s accused of shooting Ali Saleh multiple times in the Sanaa Food Market on Clifford Avenue in March.
In court, he turned down an offer from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office that would have reduced his charge to first-degree manslaughter. The deal would have given Brown a sentence of 23 years, plus five years of post-release supervision.
Brown’s attorneys say he needs more time to consider the deal. He’s due back in court on Oct. 9.
