A college football sideline is one of the coolest places to be during a game, but you certainly have to keep your head on a swivel at all times.
ESPN sideline reporter Tori Petry learned that lesson the hard way late in the second quarter Saturday when Baylor faced visiting Kansas State in a Big 12 matchup in Waco. Petry got absolutely trucked by Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson as he was pushed out of bounds by Baylor’s Kyland Reed following a scramble.

— Mr. Salmons (@MrSalmons) October 4, 2025Petry appeared to be OK following the collision, during which Reed was penalized for a late hit out of bounds. Johnson immediately went from protesting the late hit to helping Petry back to her feet, and the reporter appeared to be OK.
The half-the-distance penalty set up Kansas State at the Baylor 9-yard line, and the Wildcats took advantage on the next play via a 9-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to Garrett Oakley.
That score tied the game 17-17.
