The natural passage of time leaves many a legend looking unrecognizable from their prime – some buck the trend.
Age comes for us all and, having spent years in the spotlight in the rough and tumble world of professional wrestling, it’s understandable that countless heroes of yesteryear are left to rue the physical toll.
Goldust and Marlena were the controversial couple of 1996 in WWEIn wrestling, as in life, however, some are seemingly ageless. WWE icon Terri Runnels, in the view of many, falls very much into that category – having sent fans wild with a new snap from a wrestling convention recently.
The former WWE and WCW star posed in a sparkling gown at 90s Wrestling Con 2025 and drew an outpouring of praise from followers online.

“Like a fine wine,” one fan declared. “Still stunning,” said another, while one comment summed up the mood with: “Lady do you age??? Wow!!! Love love love!”
Others fondly recalled her career highlights. “I’ll never forget the storyline involving Terri, Perry [Saturn], and Moppy!!” one supporter laughed, while another called her simply: “My two favourites of all time.”
It’s now just shy of 30 years since Runnels first appeared on WWE television in 1996, stepping out as Marlena alongside Goldust in one of the company’s most talked-about storylines.
Her glamorous ringside presence and cool confidence helped define the character, adding a touch of Hollywood and provocative controversy to WWE programming in the mid-90s, with Goldust pushing the boundaries of the day.
As the Goldust character evolved – with her husband Dustin behind it – so too did she, becoming part of an edgy storyline with the late Brian Pillman in the months before his tragic passing in 1997.
Reflecting on her own start in the company, she once told WWE.com: “I was given this character, and I just dove into it. I thought: ‘I can make this something people will never forget.’
“I didn’t want her to just be a background piece – I wanted to create a character that had substance, that had a mystique, that left people wondering what she’d do next.”
Runnels did just that. From the golden director’s chair at ringside to her later role with The Hardy Boyz and Saturn, she remained a fixture of the Attitude Era.

Runnels has since stepped away from the weekly grind but has never truly left wrestling.
