VICTOR, N.Y. – A fresh coat of paint might be in store for Mead Square Park in Victor, but village officials want to hear from residents first.
“The goal of the project is to develop recommendations to transform and revitalize Mead Square Park and make it a centerpiece of the core of the village,” Josh Raymor of Bayer Landscape Architecture said.
Raymor expressed excitement about the potential changes to the park, aiming to make it a multi-functional space for both active and passive recreation, as well as events of various sizes.
“We looked at the current condition of Mead Square Park and tried to visualize ways to both draw people down to the village, bring people into the park, hold their interest, and provide them opportunities to explore the park and relax within the park,” Raymor said.
Village Trustee Carol Commisso emphasized the importance of community feedback in shaping the park’s future design.
“This is the first time people are seeing the new design, and we’d like to get their feedback because this isn’t a final design,” Commisso said. “Based on what we hear from people, we will change it.”
Commisso highlighted the village’s extensive trail system and the potential for adding amenities like public restrooms to enhance the park’s appeal.
Residents interested in sharing their thoughts on the new park design or other downtown improvements can visit the village’s website.
