ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High pressure remains planted overhead, which means more calm and quiet weather for us. Frost Advisories are posted for the Southern Tier, where there is a good likelihood of frost after midnight and into early Thursday morning. Some patchy frost is possible across portions of the Finger Lakes south of the Thruway, but widespread frost isn’t expected. Temperatures will be dropping into the lower 40s, with some spots in the 30s in the deeper valleys. High clouds will arrive on Thursday as a warm front moves through. This will bump our temperatures back into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees Thursday afternoon. Friday also remains beautiful with sunshine and temperatures back into the 70s.
The first weekend of October will feel more like July or August, with highs in the lower 80s both days, along with plenty of sunshine. Great weather if you want to get out and take in some of the lovely fall colors that are starting to emerge! In fact, a good portion of our area is now at midpoint, while the Southern Tier and Adirondacks are near or at peak. The colors are changing fast, so take advantage of the nice weather to enjoy them!
Our weather remains warm and quiet through Monday of next week. After that, we’ll get a bit of a pattern chance, with some rain returning on Tuesday, along with much cooler air for the middle to end of next week.
