Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado have renewed their partnership for the Aims2UNC transition program.
The program started in 2019 and allows students to enroll simultaneously in the schools, earning an associate degree from Aims and a bachelor’s degree from UNC.
The program also gives students the opportunity to access academic support, advising and campus resources at both schools. Students may also be eligible to receive scholarships while at Aims exclusive to the students in the program.
Aims President and CEO Leah Bornstein and UNC President Andy Feinstein signed a memorandum of understanding on the renewal in late September, according to a news release from Aims. The memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents was updated for a three-year term. The schools hope to renew the agreement again in September 2028.
Aims2UNC program representatives will present an annual update at the Aims Board of Trustees meeting in November.

Since the program started, 411 students have received $346,632 in institutional scholarship support while at Aims. Currently, there are 242 students working toward an associate’s degree at Aims. More than 200 Aims2UNC students currently attend UNC.
The Aims news release said 130 students have earned bachelor’s degrees and 12 have completed or pursued a master’s degree at UNC.
