News by : (News10NBC) -

PERINTON, N.Y. — Several schools in the Fairport Central School District went into lockout on Tuesday morning over “an ongoing police investigation.”

The lockout was lifted around 9:10 a.m. and there was no immediate threat to the campus, the district confirmed. The Brooks Hill Elementary, Johanna Perrin Middle School, Minerva DeLand School, and Baumer Place Administration Building were all put on lockout in cooperation with police.

News10NBC is working to learn more about the police investigation and whether it’s related to Tuesday morning’s attack on Mosely Road and High Gate Trail in Perinton. Deputies responded to the attack around 8:30 a.m.

In a statement, the district said:

“The primary purpose of this lockout was to secure our school buildings and grounds in order for our law enforcement partners to conduct their investigation. The lockout designation simply provides schools with the temporary hold on activities in and out of the school and does not impact instructional activities.”
