Some of the over 2 million voters registered in San Diego County began receiving voter information pamphlets for the Nov. 4 special election in the mail Saturday.
The pamphlets contain information on voting options, election deadlines, and a sample ballot as a guide to how the official one will look.
Voters can find a list of official ballot drop boxes and vote centers in the pamphlet or online at the Registrar of Voters. Those who signed up to get the pamphlet electronically should have received an email with the same information and a link to the Registrar’s office.
People throughout California are being asked to decide whether to adopt Proposition 50, an amendment to the State Constitution related to redistricting.
Residents in the city of Poway’s Council District 2 will have an additional question on their ballot on whether to remove their city council member from office.
Voters can expect to receive their official ballot the week of Oct. 6, which is also when early voting begins. That gives people about a month to mark and return it by the final day of voting on Nov. 4. They will have three options to submit ballots: returning them by mail, or dropping them off at one of the Registrar’s official ballot boxes or at any vote center.
In-person early voting begins Oct. 25 at select vote centers throughout the county; they will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
